Vermont Flower Tubers: Grown with Care, Ready to Bloom
At Mooring Hill Farm, located in the heart of Vermont, our dahlia tubers are grown with love and care right here on our farm. Unlike the dahlias you may find at a garden center, our tubers are sold individually, with a viable eye and true to the variety. We offer dahlia tubers in 3-count bags, ensuring you get the perfect quantity for your garden.
Our tubers are carefully bagged and shipped directly to you between March and May (based on your growing zone) to ensure they arrive ready to thrive. Please note, we do not offer farm pickup for dahlia tuber orders. You will receive an email notification once your order has shipped, and we cannot accommodate early shipping.
We ship dahlia tubers to the United States (excluding Hawaii and Alaska). Unfortunately, we do not offer international shipping. As a reminder, we do not accept refunds on dahlia tuber orders for changes of mind, post-shipping conditions, or poor growing conditions.
Shipping Details & Packaging
We take care to ship your dahlia tubers in the smallest box possible to minimize shipping costs. If we can ship it in a smaller box, we’ll refund the difference to you before your order is shipped. Each order is shipped separately, so please expect individual shipping charges for multiple orders.
All of our dahlia tubers come in a bag with vermiculite to keep them fresh, along with a single label per variety to help you identify each one.
Caring for Your Dahlia Tubers
Once your dahlia tubers arrive, store them in a dark, cool location like a basement or garage (make sure it doesn’t freeze!). Keep them off concrete floors as it will pull moisture from the tubers. If you’d like to get a jumpstart on your dahlias, you can pot them up indoors, but they’ll need temperatures around 60°F to sprout.
Dahlias need a little patience as they wake up from storage and may take longer to sprout depending on the variety. Plant them in a sunny location when the risk of frost has passed and the ground temperature is around 60°F. It’s important not to water the tubers until they have at least 3 sets of leaves, as watering too soon can cause the tuber to rot.
At Mooring Hill Farm, we take pride in our dahlias and hope they’ll bloom beautifully for you. If you’re planning an event at our farm, you’ll see firsthand the stunning flowers that make our farm so special!
